Description

Currently available from Oriel Seren, Machynlleth.

Large freestanding curved glass panel featuring Bryn Cader Faner,  a stunning stone circle in north Wales with views across to distant Snowdon. Set high on a boggy plateau it’s a trek to reach, but well worth it! Utterly quiet and a remotely beautiful spot.

Having visited for the first time a couple of years ago, I finally got round to creating this in its honour.  Layers of coloured glass powders and paint are built up on both sides, involving several firings and giving a great sense of depth to the piece. A pair of buzzards (or eagles?!) circle lazily on thermals high up in the fresh blue skies.

The panel is slumped in the kiln, draped over a mold meaning it is a freestanding curve which catches as much light as possible.

This is a one-of-a-kind glass creation, not a repeatable or ongoing series of the same. There is only one of these glass panels and I will never make another exactly the same.

It looks amazing with the sun shining though, or against a white wall.  I’ve included a photograph of the panel with a light behind it too – another option!
